Potentiality of Indian Reservoirs of Tropical and Subtropical Regions in the Context of Aquaculture

The Complicate system of reservoirs (largely used for various purposes) existing in the tropical and sub-tropical regions of the country-such as resources of reservoirs, their groupings, rheology, eco-morphological events following reservoir formatting, deforestation resulting heavy siltation, various limnological aspects and transformation of energy affecting the production potentiality are the major chapters highlighted in this book. Fishery potentials in such reservoirs are covered in details and supplemented by the gear technology suitable for rational exploitation of fishery resources. The unpredictable crazy atmosphere which has active influence on the ecosystem is highlighted. Suggestions for future investigations are also indicated.
