Global data center energy use was estimated at 1.1% of total energy use in 2012 and is expected to increase to 2.5% by 2020. Indonesian data centers used an estimated 1.5% of total electricity generating capacity in 2014 and are expected to use between 2.0% and 3.0% by 2017.
