Turkey and the EU: The Challenges Ahead

This e-book is the outcome of a Jean Monnet Module, entitled as “The European Union’s Political Aspects and Culture Essentials - EU PACE” (2013-16), at the Department of International Relations at Altinbas University. The module was selected under the 2013 Call for Proposals of the Jean Monnet Programme under the EU’s Lifelong Learning Programme. This edited volume covers lectures, seminars and research activities conducted within the scope of the module, spanning topics from populism in the European Parliament to the attitudes of Turkish scholars regarding EU membership to the role of the EU as an international actor. All chapters address important challenges that the European Union and Turkey are facing in times of great disharmony and discussion on political values and systems in Europe and the world.
