The small meat-processing town of Lewistown could be like any other, except that it has Franklin Funderburk, or as the locals demeaningly refer to her, "Frankie Funder." Frankie is just an ordinary girl who works for the slaughterhouse, except that she is an outcast, unusually tall and with no hair on her head, kept in the dark by a parent more interested in sheltering her than exposing her to the world. As a little girl, her father told her about the Adeasols—a mysterious group of cannibalistic cave dwellers who live in the mountains. After a chance run-in with the creatures, she uncovers a buried cache of stolen gold as well as her own frightening bloodlust. A horrible adventure with her newfound "friends" will show the town of Lewistown not to mess with Frankie Funder, for once and for all.
