Merely a Gentleman

Things are not always what they seem, and neither are people… Pretty Hesther Luttrell and her brother Hugo have been sent to London for the Season—a treat from Hugo's godfather. Studious Hesther is bent on self-improvement but it's not long before Hugo, becoming weary of dutiful trips to St. Paul's, begins to crave the excitements of dancing with the ton at Vauxhall Gardens or Almack's. Risking his sister's wrath, he turns for help to Theo Staveley, a fashionable stranger who has once before come to the duo's rescue but who is, Hugo anxiously assures the disapproving Hester, merely a gentleman—a gentleman, however, who will change both their lives.
