Companion to College English

Certainly college English can seem intimidating. So can new technology. Both require effort and time to master. But once learned, they can make work easier, more productive, and more pleasurable. Companion to College English, Third Edition, is intended as a supplementary text for freshman English courses in Christian schools. It can also provide a Christian perspective for a Christian student enrolled in a secular English program or for a pastor or layman drawn into a writing ministry without formal preparation. It includes sample writing by students who began with self-doubts but succeeded through patient effort. Ending most of the chapters as well as embedded within them are excerpts from the works of professional writers that illustrate the point being made. Though in writing as in most tasks we all begin at different levels and move at different rates, progress can continue and the heights can be won.
