Ideas for Educators

Written by two experienced teachers, this series of newsletters on CD-ROM offers educators and administrators a quick and easy way to learn and incorporate the Developmental Assets® into daily teaching practices. The newsletters can be printed out from the CD-ROM or sent via e-mail as complete documents, modified to fit a school’s individual needs, or even inserted into existing school and district mailings. Each newsletter provides an overview of a Developmental Asset and explains how it works in a classroom setting and then gives teachers strategies and tips for infusing that asset into working with students. Classroom strategies are easy to implement and can be quickly incorporated into classroom work without requiring special materials or elaborate preparation and can be adjusted to the needs and education levels of the students. Each newsletter also contains a section on fostering that Developmental Asset in a teacher’s life to aid in staff development.
