World War I and the Control of Sexually Transmitted Diseases-U.S.

In this document collection, students will learn how to think historically by analyzing primary sources related to venereal disease control in the years during and immediately following World War I. By studying World War I through the lens of gender, sexuality, and public health, students will gain a new historical perspective of women's experience on the home front during the war. Students are guided through their analysis of the primary sources with an author-provided learning objective, central question, and historical context.
