#EdJourney: A Roadmap to the Future of Education

After two years of study on the role of innovation in education, the author drove around the country on a unique solo 3-month road trip, visiting 64 private and public schools and meeting with more than 600 educators to see how K-12 education is meeting the challenges of a rapidly changing world.  In a series of half-day and all-day visits at these schools he interviewed teachers, administrators, students, parents, and trustees, walked the halls, and sat in on classes to answer four basic questions: What are schools doing differently than they were just five years ago to prepare our students for their future rather than for our past? How are they achieving this transition? What are the key obstacles to this transition? How can other schools leverage the lessons of success and failure of these schools? Based on what he found as well as the most current research, the author paints a picture of what transformative learning looks like and provides a roadmap to innovation for any school.
