The book is divided into three parts. In the first the authors lay out the case that deeper learning (the term they use to describe the marriage between performance assessment and project-based learning) is not only a Common Core mandate, it is also the right thing to do for our kids. In the second part, the body of the book, we detail a structural plan for transforming a school into an agent for deeper learning, drawing heavily from our Envision Schools story but also from the best practices we see from school partners all across the country. The third part--the Ok, now what? section--is addressed to our readers who are convinced by our message but need a game plan.
