Common Worship: Proclaiming the Passion

The accounts of Jesus' Passion are at the heart of the Gospel tradition. This booklet sets out the texts of the Passion narratives for dramatic reading by a number of voices, on Palm Sunday and Good Friday. This liturgical custom has been present in northern Europe since the tenth century and in recent decades has seen something of a revival. It includes: The Passion according to Matthew (Year A), The Passion according to Mark (Year B), and The Passion according to Luke (Year C) for Palm Sunday from each of the synoptic gospels, and The Passion according to John for Good Friday. An informative introduction offering background information and practical guidelines on using the material is also included.
