New Features in Oracle 9i

This eDocument seeks to actually evaluate the new new features introduced in Oracle 9i Release 2, rather than just list them and tell you how wonderful they are (we have marketing brochures for that). Plenty of practical, worked examples are used to demonstrate each new capability, and each is then assessed for its pros and cons. The aim throughout has been to enable readers to repeat the tests for themselves, and thereby perform their own discovery of the huge advances in functionality that 9i Release 2 brings. The material is "10g aware", and points out where further enhancements and functionality are made available in that version.
