When these old friends get together, it’s a party to die for.   It was a fabulous evening—good food, plenty of drinks, a congenial mix of old friends and new. Indeed, if it hadn’t been for the hostess’s untimely demise, it would have been one of the best parties of the season. As it was, someone had mixed rich and lovely Laura Sloane a quite fatal cocktail, and she had gone from happily tipsy to terribly dead within hours. That someone certainly wasn’t elegant, indolent Snooky Randolph, the only guest without a motive of love or money. But Snooky did have a growing passion for the number-one suspect, Laura’s beautiful stepdaughter, Isabel. He also had a brother-in-law who abhorred murder.
