ABSITE Slayer is a comprehensive review for the American Board of Surgery in-Training Exam, which is a 225 multiple choice question exam taken by general surgery residents in the United States in January of each year of their residency. A "quick-read" —the book can serve as a last minute study aid or a general framework for preparing for the exam. Unlike many other books, the book focuses on the ABSITE exam only, rather than being a combined ABSITE and board review book. The ABSITE exam is a highly stressful experience for the surgery resident, as ABSITE scores are highly valued by training programs and determine the resident's likelihood of matching to a top fellowship program. Chapters are organized by organ system, and each chapter contains three parts: 1) Test taking tips, 2) Rapid fire Q&A, which are short questions followed by a single short answer, 3) Traditional Multiple Choice questions consisting of questions and answers with detailed explanations. The book includes illustrations and diagrams of key concepts and anatomy.
