A Tree Full of Angels

Lectio Divina, or divine reading, is an ancient approach to studying the Bible. Adapted from Jewish tradition by Saint Benedict in the sixth century, it is a special way of listening to God. This unhurried, reflective study of Scripture combines prayer and meditation, allowing the reader to understand and contemplate God’s message. Macrina Wiederkehr, author of Seasons of Your Heart and The Song of the Seed, explains the practice of divine reading in a way that makes it accessible to everyone.
