AAOM Clinician's Guide to Oral Health in Geriatric Patients

This updated edition of the American Academy of Oral Medicine (AAOM) Clinician's Guide series is intended for use by oral health practitioners as a quick reference and adjunct in the care of older patients. This Clinician's Guide provides a concise summary of the influence of aging, systemic disease and its treatment on oral health and function. The following topics are tailored specifically to older adults: Oral Medicine, Treatment Planning, Common Oral Conditions ( lesions, orofacial pain, disorders, etc...), Dental Management Guidelines for Common Medical Conditions, Prescribing Medication(s), and Nutrition. The guide provides a summary of the etiology, clinical appearance (including photographs), and treatment of common oral conditions seen in older adults.
