Introduction to Infrastructure Financing

In this report on infrastructure funding options, more than twenty funding sources or mechanisms are discussed, including bonds, impact fees, user charges, and special districts. Each source is described and discussed in terms of the type of project for which it is suited, its advantages, its disadvantages, and examples of implementation. The report highlights basic differences between funding options as well as the trade-offs that local governments must consider.
